Granite
Granite is another perennial favorite when it comes kitchen counters. You can get it in both engineered and natural stone. If you choose to go with a natural granite countertop, keep in mind that it is going to cost you more money than an engineered granite countertop is going to. Granite can give you a nice, rustic look in your kitchen, depending on what you choose. It can also look very edgy and modern, again, depending on what style and color you choose. Natural granite is going to have veins and other minerals in it which can create an individual look. If you are going to have several countertops in your kitchen made out of granite, you should check to make sure that they are sourced from the same quarry so that they all have the same look. A different quarry is going to have different amounts and types of minerals, which means you can end up with a different color or different look altogether. Be aware that granite is porous, so you are going to need to make sure that you have it sealed yearly so that it doesn't stain or absorb odors.
